A small frame .357 Glock. I hike in the mountains, often solo and during early bear season. We also have wild boar here. The pistol, loaded, with spare mag in it's carrying bag weighs right at two pounds. Good insurance, and easier to carry than a sword (the closest I own to a sword is a machete), more effective than pepper spray.
