BillyBob there is no real answer to your question. However, you are merely following the letter of the law, the spirit of the first commandment is against false idols, but more importantly, putting anything in front of God. If you believe in Jesus, and it turns out he never existed or wasn't God, but you are living your life in a good moral way, I couldn't see any reasonable interpretation of God holding that against you. How can this be? Well you are putting God and your moral life first in your life, so it doesn't matter what embodiment you put on our creator. I would argue that you could be following any religion and it doesn't matter which one is "right", just that you follow the spirit of what God asks.
