1) I know plenty of sane Muslims who follow the religion moderately as it should be. Should they be punished for the actions of a minority?

2) There are plenty of times when the Christians could have been viewed as extreme - anybody ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition?

3) Just like any religion, there will be extremists. It just so happens that the Muslim extremists are usually violent. One thing we should not tolerate are threats of violent action like some of those protests in Britain. People carrying signs like "Behead anyone who insults Islam" are just out of their minds and have been brainwashed into intolerance.
