Default home surveillance

I wasn't sure where this would fit in, but i am looking for information about home surveillance cameras. My neighbor has a camera placed under the overhang of his house, i can't tell for sure (i try not looking at his house), but it looks like the camera is picking up the view at the gate to my drive way. This bothers me. Why he even has it, i dont know, i have lived here almost a dozen years and it is just not the kind of neighborhood where things go on that you need to be watching things to such an extreme. BUt, if it makes him feel better, he has the right, but what if i dont want MY property watched?
I have searched on some legal sites but havent found much info. Does anyone here have experience with this kind of issue? Or opinions? What kind of world is this becoming when i cant walk in and out of my own property without my neighbor having it on film. IT is creepy...very,very creepy. My sister has suggested that i go to the spot in my yard where the camera points and flash him. My husband said thats not a good idea, i would probably be arrested for indecent exposure. Maybe i could get my day in court that way!!
