Me: Ditto. It may take a generation, but if Serbia changes for the better, the kosovars may come around on their own.

never...... Kosova was never part of serbia.
Not directly. Just as Colorado is not part of Texas directly.

But like Colorado and Texas, they used to belong to the same nation.

Quote:
Do u mean serbia would colonize again?
Its not a Colony if it is equal in every way.

If Serbia were to change enough, the Kosovars might willingly desire to unify with them.

If the conditions were right, it could happen. And so long as they chose to do so willingly, I would have no problem with it. I dont even have a problem with it now.

The issue is oppression. If the Kosovars act of their own volition, and are not being intimidated into it, I have no problem with a Serbian/Kosovo union.

Of course, that is not the situation now. Which is why I support Kosovo independence. But that does not mean it cant happen in the future. Yes, it is possible for the Serbians to change. They aren't robots.

Quote:
serbs in Republic of Kosova will make less than 0.4%...
Which is why I used the term "Kosovars" and not "Albanians" or "Serbians".

My primary ancestry is German, but I do not refer to myself as German. I refer to myself as American.

That is an important distinction, and one that the Kosovars will need to start embracing if they ever expect to see any progress. Their nation (and its ideals) should matter more than their race. I do not think of "Kosovo "and "Albanian" and being the same thing. And neither should they IMO.

Besides, remember this one: Republic of Kosova has a strong potential to become an economical and political superpower in the Balkans.
Maybe. I'm not arguing that. Even if Kosovo is wildly successful, that doesnt necessarily mean that the Kosovars would not want to unify with Serbia in the future.

Germany and Japan used to be bitter enemies of the US. Now we are allies. Things change. People change.

You may not be able to let the past go, but their children might.

The American and European universities have opened their technology, law, business, economy, political departments. American and European professors are giving lectures, preparing the next generation. Republic Kosova might become the Silicon Valley of Europe.

Already 5000 foreign companies have expressed their readiness to invest in Republic of Kosova.
Yep. And I agree with all of it. I'd love to see more. I love seeing democracies educated and armed.

Kosovo is rich in minerals, and that's one of the things you took from us by brute force of Uncle Sam.
You never owned it. So they took nothing from you.

Don't you worry. You won't be seeing the light of day as a widely recognized state.
They are already recognized by the nations that matter. Because:

But remember, all Serbia's trade partners have recognized the independent Republic of Kosova. All of them. that IS 70% of world's economy......Who are going to trade with? Vietnam, Cuba? what else?
Exactly my point. Economically, it is not like Russia could do anything for them anyway. The nations that matter (where economic opportunity is concerned) have backed Kosovo.

Nor will you see the UN.
Neither has Taiwan. They seem to be doing just fine.

Quote:
hahaha...remember....Switzerland has been independent since 1090 and joined UN in 2002.
Case in point. Switzerland wasn't recognized as a real nation before 2002? Gimme a break.

The UN is not the be all end all that people seem to think it is.

Quote:
Do you remember that Serbian Islamic community from Sandzak urged the Islamic countries of the world not to recognize Kosovo?
Oh no. Not that. How could anyone live without their support?

Oh wait...Israel does. Guess that is another example eh?

Quote:
Arab countries have unofficially confirmed it? Can you show some links, data? I would love to read more about this? Can you back uop this claim?
I think he means this site: - http://www.kosovothanksyou.com/ -

That site has a link to Pakistan's announcement...so at least one Muslim nation has recognized Kosovo - http://www.mofa.gov.pk/Press_Release.../PR_033_08.htm -
