there was the same kind of criticism for the ideas of the earth being round, the sun being the middle of the solar system, gravity, the big bang, etc.. maybe people should focus on the science then on how ridicolous it sounds.

p.s. it seems as if there are a lot of people that get ID and creationism mixed up so heres a simplified difference.

creationism is based on the idea that everything was created by a creator of a god.

intelligent design is based on the idea that the universe and everything in it is too complex for being explained by chance. ID is not based on a creator or god. it can simply be something like a force or a phenomenon like gravity or time. there are many things that we dont know of so we should keep an open mind about such possibility.
