They are trying to. But even if they can do it the way they are trying to. Then in the long run they will only have something that looks like a dinosaur. Not an actual dinosaur. Because they are basically reverse engineering animals that they think came from dinosaurs.

For example, right now they are using chickens, because they believe chickens, and some other birds came from the rapter family of dinosaurs.
They can not do it like in Jurassic Park. DNA even in a mosquito does not last for more than a few hundred thousand years.
