The biggest problem with Welfare is that it absolves fathers from having to take responsibility for their own offspring. My own father, left us when I was 4, and for a time my Mom did have to get on Government Assistance for help. The few times that I asked my father for money to buy clothes or new shoes (since my shoes were getting holes in them - not too much fun in the NE with Snow) he would say things like, Well Welfare is giving your mother money, so ask her. Welfare needs to be done the way it is here in Florida, they give the women the assistance they need, then they track down the fathers and make them pay.

Lol, I don't necessarily disagree with what you have to say in the second part. But again, like I have said before, we can't put everyone in the same bucket. You are speaking from your own life experiences, and in that scenario, it makes sense. I don't think your scenario speaks for every person that has gotten support from welfare.
