Well, things are far better than they used to be. Regardless, keep in mind that when religion literally ran the world people we still killing one another. Hell, the church itself was among the worst offenders. Religion has a terrible track record of preventing war and a long track record of being used to justify it. Besides, science doesn't claim the objective of stopping war. That's a political issue.

Always will. But science has made the last two FAR less common than 500 years ago. And most of the wars we have even today have participants claiming God is on their side.
