Yes, it was obvious you had not read the book. A better form of the sentence, from the book and the character that wrote both, is "violence is the FIRST refuge of the incompetent" since the character in question was quite competent using violence, when it was the most effective method to obtain his goals.
You should read more Western books. They will help ease the muslim brainwashing.
