Well said Demosthenes, I'm yet to hear any other platform that offers such a tried and true method of eliminating one of the greatest of humanity's threats- our penchant for war. Know that some of the worlds greatest thinkers have embraced the idea, over the course of the last century- specific to a world level- but in truth its the idea of governance itself, taken to the next, and final, step- and is therefore ancient. You're in excellence company believe me.

Sue, we've done it again and again- enemies become friends, borders become overcome in the common persuit of universal improvement- would you prefer if America was devided between North and South right now- your country, and the world would be far worse off if it still was.

If you're concerned about the intermediate, when you still have national enemies, powers will still be held at the national level corresponding to their need- just as international ones that are of common good will begin to be introduced. I know Australia offers one way of protecting the rights and freedoms of a collective concerned about its role in a greater one- The Senate overwatches the House of Reps, in theory anyway, and has more power based on the State level than actual population.

Chill Bugalugs, don't lower yourself. Besides, much better to respond to the OP than the mandatory quick and ill-thought out 1st reply. Demosthenes, Bugalugs, how about a law where democracies will only make war in concert with each other?
