You would be up in arms if you were not allowed to have kids because a few parents killed theirs.

In 1996, a ban on semi-automatic weapons was enforced in Australia as a result of the Port Arthur massacre and several similar incidents in the 80s and early 90s.
Since that ban - there has been only one similar incident (2002 at Monash Uni in Melbourne when 2 peolple were killed and 5 wounded)
