Eh? Religion gives "the deity" control over who has political power, and doesn't give it to God? Isn't God "the deity"? You're not making sense!

religion also poisons politics and creates theocratic institutions.
How can politics be poisoned? It's all about conflicting motives fighting for top dog influence... Religion just adds to the list of motives.

Religion and religious extremism can never be 'moderated', you either believe in the texts and what they say or not!
You realize that to be "moderated" means to be tamed by some external force. For instance, a government could restrict a religious extremist group from being able to do certain things. It has nothing to do with the believers themselves compromising with their beliefs.

Simply put, you either believe what in your religious texts or you do not. If you do you believe in a celestial dictatorship where every human being is completely supervised and invigilated without letup every instant of your life from conception until death - and at death is where the real fun begins - because you either go to a paradise which according to every description I have read would be hellish, consisting of eternal praise and perfect servitude, unending and benign - worst of all a benign dictatorship. Or you go to Hell for eternal torture for an offense which you probably couldn't have failed to commit, because as is well said about religion once: 'it postulates that we are created diseased and then ordered to be well'. I don't know about you but I find religion a disgusting idea.
That only describes the beliefs of a small subset of religions.

Religion supports dictatorship and needs to be destroyed from secular political life!
"Destroy" probably wasn't your best choice of word. You're likely to trigger angry responses simply due to the connotation of the word.
