Leave Iran alone
"Fall in line and join the world?"
When you say "world" what in effect you really mean is the 5 permenant members of the UN Security Council who, from an inequittable position of power, are able to bully the rest of the world into line. Iran is not a hostile nation and has not pre-emptied an attack on anybody for over 300 years. She is a sovereign nation and, just like other countries who won't play ball with you (Venezeula for instance), she wants to maintain her independent sovereignty and keep her natural resources for herself rather than have them stolen by criminals like Bush.
So the US needs to butt out and leave her alone - she has done you no harm and is incapable of doing a nuclear superpower like you any harm. Iran is a signatory to the nuclear non- proliferation treaty (NPT) and has openly acted in good faith despite your frenzied anti-Iranian media prpoaganda campaigns which make false claims to the contrary. The brilliant US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, who brought to the world's attention your government's atrocities at Mai Lai and Abu Ghraib, has it on authority that the US Junta or more likely its middle east proxy, Israel, will indeed launch an unprovoked attack on Iran. Sadly, it's not a case of 'if' but 'when'. However, unlike Iraq, Iran will not fall without a fight. Unlike Iraq, Iran has not been broken by 13 years of UN/US sanctions that killed 500,000 children ('a price worth paying' in the words of your war criminal and terrorist, Albright). Unlike Iraq (pop. 28 million), Iran (pop. 80 million) has a strong military force and their first target, should they be hit, will undoubtably be the British and American troops stationed in Basra. An attack on Iran will ignite the entire middle east, the environmental impacts of which will be felt far beyond the region.
More than all that, an attack on Iraq will create thousands upon thousands of more Bin Laden's who will blow themselves up in MY CITY, killing MY FELLOW CITIZENS IN THE PROCESS. The backlash that an attack on Iran will cause will be enormous. You see, for people like you who probably live in some backwater somewhere in some remote and isolated part of the US, the impact will be marginally felt, if at all, but for those of us here who live in major cities like London and New York, the impact will be too great to bear. I have to tell you that I lost a friend of mine on 7-7-05 here in London and I don't want to lose anymore thanks all the same. Why can't your government, just leave other nations who happen to disagree with your government's worldview alone - just leave them alone.
