Atheist double standards.

I'll say it again, if you find atheists to be rude and combative online, it is most likely a defense mechanism or an act of retaliation from living among people like Herkdriver who are so insecure with their own beliefs that they feel the need to pester and insult those of us that do not think like them.
The thread title isn't "atheists are rude and combative online". I mean many are, but I think you get plenty of rude and combative religious people as well (though maybe more of them offline).

I here I'm talking about a double standard. One moment telling people they're bad if the try and spread their beliefs whatever the are, but then going on about how atheism is the only true belief. Or that they should never vote for a candidate based on religion, but not holding themselves to that should an atheist come along, that sort of thing.

Herk, rude and combative as he may be, likely expects no less from atheists, and will call you dead inside but wouldn't call foul for bringing up your beliefs wherever and whenever. I don't know that for a fact though.
