It seems that way but its not really accurate. Its not the word that has changed but this group of people, the base of the democratic party. They are the ones that changed, by sacrificing many of the basic principles liberalism. The same can be said of conservatives in America. They used to believe in less taxes and less government but thats apparently out the window now althrough McCain does give me some hope with promises to veto any legislation with any pork barrel in it. Thats going to be interesting because that means there will be no legislation. In most cases that is probably a good thing until the people take control of the government back and insist on less government, less taxes. Unfortunately, it seems this is not going to happen until the Great Baby Boomer Crash that is about 5-10 years away.
