Generally we are supportive of Kevin Rudd, John Howard was a bit of a joke here (I think in Australia too) because he was such a suck up to George Bush. Helen Clark is (still!?) prime minister, but we have elections this year and National looks like it's going to have good chances.
John Key, leader of National, is an absolute idiot. I wouldn't mind too much if National wins the elections, but they sure as hell better replace their leader. He got asked what his stance was on the Springbok tour of 81 (one of the most politically controversial events in NZ's history for all you outsiders) and he said he "forgot".
Hillary Clinton called Helen Clark the "former prime minister of NZ", and said that "if there was a nuclear war, the only things to rise from the ruins would be cockroaches and Helen Clark"
