There are no laws that say it should. Should the factory worker loose his job because he got a DUI? For a criminal charge to affect your job, it must be one that removes your ability to do your job.

I have never had a teacher teach hate liberal or conservative. Denying someone a teaching position because of their political affiliation would be discrimination, and is illegal. I have never had a teacher allow his own political views to interfere with what they taught.
