Maybe the problem goes deeper than de-regulation or regulation. Maybe the problem comes from the utterly foolish tug-of-war constantly happening between political parties. Regulation today, no regulation tomorrow... the people cannot learn a new system every other day. Regulation is part of the United States Constitution, so unless you're advocating an amendment, you should accept regulation.

The bail-out... if Bush is handling it, it will fail. Can't they do something to hold things afloat until after Bush is gone?

This is both true and false. According to Article I Section 8 interstate commerce is subject to regulation but intrastate commerce is not. So, in this instance, if we are talking about a National bank it is regulated but if we are talking about a State bank it is not subject to federal regulations according to the Constitution.
