No the government should not make "moral" laws.
That is my single biggest issue with this nation right now. Too many of these moral laws are being shoved down our throats.
Its a bigger deal to me than the Iraq War, Health Care, Global Warming, the Economy or anything else because you essentially have a bunch of people trying to tell ME how to live my own life from a moral aspect.
Whats also frustrating to me is that most of these morals are derived from religion and my only gripe with that is that you cannot prove religion and since religion should be seperate from politics you have stuff that cant be proven being shoved down our throats just because someone else says it should be.
Laws should be designed to protect people from OTHER people. I dont believe in the whole "protection from ones self" type of b.s..
If you kill someone there should be laws against that...or rape...In other words things that impede on free will and freedom.
But dont tell me that I get a fine if I dont wear my seat belt. Dont tell me what I can or cant put in my own body, and dont tell anyone who they can or cant marry.
Those laws are ridiculous IMO.
