You can not get rid of all the guns. Can't do it, it is impossible As long as there is one gun out there, the criminal will find a way to get his hands on it.

As long as criminals and the government (or any other government) has guns, so should I.

If banning guns worked then you would have seen a drop in the numbers of handguns used in crime in DC. There has been no such drop.
