Change is just a platitude, his platforms aren't revolutionary. The 'change' and 'hope' word games are nothing more than that. You target people that don't like the way things are right now and you promise to 'change' things without every really specifying what it is that your going to change, what your going to change it to, and how this change is going to result in a better overall situation.

You have to understand that the democratic voting base is a largely uneducated one and relying on platitudes and meaningless phrases is an excellent campaign strategy, since most people aren't going to do any more research on the candidates than what they hear in a 30 sec TV commercial.
