I don't agree with that, eithor. I don't think teachers have any right to spank your children. Give them detention or time out, but don't hit them, especially if the parents are personally against that form of punishment.
My mum told me about a time she was given the cane at school. She was playing up and the teacher told her off and gave her the cane.
I've heard the cane could cause painful welts on your palms, making it hard to write. Any implement used for disipline that leaves a mark should not be used.
