Because the economy slows (no recession) and companies lay off is not George W's concern. He is not the ruler of a socialist empire - then the government would be at fault. My question to you is... if you were layed off today how long could you survive without government assistance? I will tell you that I have been saving since my first job, if I were to lose my job and the chance of that is great in my field, I could live for 1 year without help. I am at that point not because I am rich, but because I have planned.
