Scientists are often wrong about any hypothesis they put forward. Tests by other scientists bring it crashing to the ground. This is expected and underscores the wonderful self-correcting nature of Science. It is, however, rare that a hypothesis passes the testing stage unscathed, is widely accepted and then shown to be wrong. In fact I can't think of a single example. Could you name one instance?
