There's no actual evidence that either Wright hates whites or that Hagee hates Muslims.
They both have abrasive and counterproductive ideological outlooks.
And in both cases, the politicians in question have denounced the parts of the preachers' ideologies that hit the American people most harshly. And in both cases... I really don't see the relevance of the views of supporters, endorsers or friends.
McCain and Hagee are allies of convenience on ONE issue... which happens to be Hagee's most important political agenda- defend Israel at all costs. Of course I have no reason to think McCain is the kind of loon that is against the two-state solution the way Hagee is.
As for Obama, Wright had a personal relationship with him. They share a church. Theirs is a friendship. And it seems to have fallen out over the bitterness in this race... kind of sad really.
We spend way too much time focusing on what other people think and not enough on wht the candidates will do. If we spent this much time talking about SC appointees, cabinet makeups, and foreign policy outlines I'd have more faith in this election.
