Really allowing this guy off is something I can tolerate. It strikes me as vigilanteism but it's totally understandable (I say that he should be booked but shown mercy... I'd also probably do the same thing and expect the same to happen to me)
If he had shot someone over adultery, I'd say book him and book him hard.
