Just because Obama does not say that he wants to establish an authoritarian state does not mean that the things he has proposed aren't reflections of that desire.
He wants everybody in the country to have government paid healthcare.
That would require you not to be able to refuse, and would require you to pay for it whether you liked it or not. It would also require you to pay for other people's healthcare. Once again, you have no choice. It's authoritarianism. Anything other than plain and free civil liberties, small government that protects civil liberties, and pure capitalist economics is authoritarianism because the government uses its power to force individuals to comply with their demands. Democrats are the party of big government, big spending, and big taxes. Barack is no exception.

I find it extremely ironic that many of those who claimed that Bush was the worst president in history claim that Obama is possibly the greatest thing to ever happen. If it is policy you are concerned with, then Obama is simply more of the same. More spending, more deficit, more foreign involvement, more government intervention, and more government regulation. Only a true partisan would claim that Obama represented change as the only change is the party he's from.
