No man is a blank slate either.
I'm glad I'm not a politician. My father is a raving conservative! My mother is a socially conservative Democrat. My wife hates politics and has several beliefs I do not agree with. I belong to no church, but my beliefs will have me associated with other athiests, many of whom I disagree with on politics.
And I can't think of a friend I have that I even think have a finger on politics, let alone beliefs I can swallow.
The guy who married my wife and I was a judge, but he was very Christian... and we had to request a secular version of the ceremony he went by (same thing but without the word "God" mentioned). I like the guy too. Does that mean I'm Christian now?
But if I were running for president, suddenly I'd be some kind of closet conservative Christian or Christopher Hitchens fan or something sinister.... You couldn't actually think that I'm a liberal like I claim, and one who doesn't really care about religion!
And I don't think I can prove that I'm not a Trojan Horse!
Lesson: Never run for office, folks!
