Global Warming that is driven by anthropogenic sources is an indisputable scientific fact.
You may quibble as to what climate prediction model to use or what assumptions and aproximations to make but the cold hard facts stare us right in the face -

WE MUST REDUCE DE-FORESTATION ACTIVITES
INTRODUCE SUSTAINABLE and RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION INDUSTRIES
CHANGE THE WAY CITIES ARE BUILT AND ORGANISED
The last thing people of the world want to do is to LISTEN to the interest groups in the USA (still the only nation NOT to ratify KYOTO)
LEast of all the clowns and spin doctors that are paid by immoral global corporations like EXXON-Mobil corp to buy time and delude the public.
This time nature cant be ignored - no way out of this one I'm afraid
Either the world changes or Nature will change the world for us - and it wont be very confortable maybe not even survivable.
The Bush administration has been a total disgrace on this issue. Bush spin doctors also introduced a new way of determining the carbon emmission rates of nations.
THe total carbon emmitted by the USA is linked with GDP. So, the term "Carbon emmitted PER GDP growth" is used
THis means that if the GDP grows for the USA which it usually does (although growth now is slow or negative) then the amount of carbon can be increased.
In other words if the GDP say grows by 10% over a specific time period, then the amount of carbon emmitted can also grow by 10%. And the wonderful thing with this spin doctoring is that the US government can then Claim that the amount of carbon emitted per GDP growth has remained unchanged for this period.
Just balatant spin doctoring - AND now China and otehr nations are employing this terminology so that they can link their economic growth to carbon emmissions
Only in the USA hey - and when the US asses begin to burn from all the heat the world will hear the "boy cry wolf" - Too late then!
