They fail to realize though that the entire reason for the existence of Super delegates, is to make sure the nomination process doesn't produce someone who is so far left leaning, that they are completely unelectable.

If the Super Delegates don't see this or won't act on it, then why have the Super Delegate system in the first place? They might as well adopt the same system the Republicans have and avoid all these headaches in the future.

Because the democrats are obsessed with what they call "greater democracy" everybody has to follow the whims of the majority, which includes the super delegates and negates their purpose. That's why so many of the Democrats support getting rid of the super delegates all together.
