The reason I keep bringing this up is simple.
The presidents job as CiC is to make sure we are safe from foreign attack. As the CiC he can do with the mil as he sees to accomplish that mission.
Once again to put this in simple terms. Very simple this time.
General Y is tasked with providing security in x part of the AOR. His intel tells him that bad guy S is going to hit them soon. General Y sees this treat and has 1/3 hit bad guy S before he can hit us. Bad guy S is now dead, and the thread has been reduced. Mission accomplished.
Same frigging thing.
Or would you rather have General Y wait till they have been hit?
