At the very least, if you send a mod a nastygram, know that it is immediately going to be shared with the other mods so we know who we are dealing with.

make no mistake about it -- I think the statement was beyond the pale and you shouldn't have to take such abuse. I support you there.
It's just that if you post private messages it pretty much establishes a precident, and so you may find others doing so, too.
