subconscious selective cognition perhaps... it doesn't seem like they are purposely deceitful...perhaps lack of formal concepts of logic and association, or failure of application (perhaps lack of practice) of these concepts... how can the brain refuse to process sensory input logically? or what may cause the brain to possibly refuse sensory input altogether? i'm no psychologist...
