You talk about interpretation, yet a Muslim claims that the Koran is the word of Allah unchanged. So how can you have different interpretations?

This is a difficult question.
Should Islam be invalidated as a "Religion"?
Should we define "Religion" to only those forms of beliefs which do not encourage mortal conflict?
I don't know.
I have met many Muslims who use their faith to make them better people. Non-violent in every sense of the word.
I understand that a literal interpretation of the Qur'an does infer violence.
These are difficult questions, it will affect Billions of Muslims to simply deny the validation of their Faith.
I think we, as non-Muslims should respect their Culture...and only act when acted upon.
We should not deny them their Faith, but we should defend ourselves if need be.
No one should be forced to be Muslim...and no one should be forced not to.
This of course leads us to a perpetual state of unrest between the Muslim and the non-Muslim.
It's quite a quandary challenging our species.
