The reason there are male and female is to breed and continue the species. Obviously gays can't have children on their own. Gay is a sexual preference, and in the most base form serves not purpose to prepetuate the human species. In religious aspect God is not a big fan of homesexuality.

And what if the two people don't believe in GOD? What if they are Buhddists? Atheist? Satanist? Let's take it even further, what if their church says its ok? Your entire span of reasoning only holds water in the context of your religion.
Using Religion as a means to deny another person or group of people the right to live their lives how they choose is nothing short of Oppression. The simple fact of the matter is, that not everyone believes as you believe. Does that make their religion or lack thereof, any less valid?
