I think we could also agree that the Republicans should not have control over two houses either (or maybe you meant branches of government, it really doesn't matter). The fact is that our democratic government is designed to be divided so that it cannot be corrupted. While it has obviously been corrupted to some degree since the revolution (mostly because of the times that a single party had total control), it could still get a lot worse, and I would really rather that didn't happen.
