Greetings
Hi, I'm the newest member. I live in Seattle, where I'm very politically active. In fact, I'm even running for public office, using my campaign to attack Bill Gates in his home town. I'm also using my campaign in part to support Hugo Chavez. Since Seattle has no political pulse, I'm desperately trying to tap into the energy generated by the Chavistas.
Where I fall on the political spectrum is a little hard to say. Most people would call me a liberal, or even a left-wing radical. However, some liberals have called me a right-winger, partly because I'm not opposed to the death penalty. (If members of Bush's administration and Congress don't deserve the death penalty, then NO ONE does.)
But I've come to despise the world "liberal." Since 9/11, U.S. liberals have become synonymous with spinelessness and apathy. You could call me a socialist, in the broad sense of the term. I support a mixed economy, combining capitalism and socialism, with a greater emphasis on social welfare than corporate welfare.
I'm even attempting to create a new political party.
Anyway, I look forward to some stimulating discussions here.
