Last month several major corporations announcing lay-off workers, as usual to lay-off workers is the first thing come to their mind and is something even you and I can do it.
As much salary a CEO get, you will think that they have the capability to do something extraordinary to their job. They should be able to keep their company rising no matter what the economy is, they should be able to go to OPEC and negotiate the oil price themselves or even get all CEOs together to go to congress and demand a military interference to bring down the oil price, furthermore they should be able to perceive that the interest rate cut is not working and ask FED to raise the interest rate to save the American dollar... However they all choose to sit and watch our economy sinking with the outrage oil price and doing nothing worthy.
