If the father of the child is a citizen and the mother is illegal, no way does the child get to become an automatic citizen.

To put it bluntly, there would be too many illegal hispanic women running around trying to get knocked up by an American citizen, while American women are far more responsible enough to not get knocked up by an illegal.

News flash homie: there are many here who want their children to be born here but it is the same number of people who wish their children were born in there country. The constitution states clearly that anyone born in this country is a citizen entitled to unalienable rights and equal protection under the law. It never had a clause stating that the birth parents had to be of a certain ethnicity or origin. I really don't like your idea since my birth was under similar circumstances. My mom's visa expired right before my birth and my father became an American citizen about 4 yrs before to technically under your idea I would have been an illegal immigrant. I can see where you are coming from but at the same time this can lead to abuses and exploitation later causes all immigrant children to not become citizens.
