Private health care insurance is successful---that is why I voted no. surprise!

The health care system as a whole is not broken, but it is in bad need of repair in certain areas if we as a nation are going to take care of each other. What else is medical care supposed to do besides earn a profit?

Why do we fund so much of the system with tax dollars and why do we pay companies (in the form of tax breaks and subsidies) who pay insurance for employees and why do we mandate others play their part?

Why do tax payers pay the health care system for delivery or research---if it is concerned with profit the industry should stand on it's own.

And anyone denies that tax payers play a huge part in propping up the medical industry in the USA denies reality.

How many people here pay their medical insurance out of pocket? How many pay the full bill themselves, out of pocket?
