If the candidates' wives advance a political position, that position should be cussed and discussed.

If the candidates' wives did something in the past that reflect on their ability to represent this country (take a look at Sarkozy's wife -- well, don't actually look at her nude pictures, but you know what I mean -- take a look at the effect on her ability to represent France), then that is a legitimate issue of discussion.
