Such edits are not an example of a mod just doing his or her job; they are examples of a mod enjoying his or her job. The mods should not be enjoying their work. No, one could get fired or expelled for such infractions.

I think there is an ethical issue here that taints all future actions until an overt correction is put in place.

I had no idea mods were able to change the meanings of posts - how many times did we read posts that where the meaning was changed and the poster didn't catch it because he/she was busy commenting on other threads?

I'm not sure what the remedy should be here but Duh2 should be able to decide what the remedy should be in this case because he was wronged.
