There's a difference that people here aren't recognizing. Muslims are not the problem, extremists are. As of 2007, there is an estimated 1.61 Billion practicing muslims in the world. Groups like Al Qaeda, Hamas, & Taliban prove feeble in total number comparison. I would consider Islam the problem if the majority of the practicing populus were terroristic in nature. The minority using religion as their basis for terrorism holds little weight due to the numbers who practice the same religion and harm no one. It comes down to simple logic.

idea vs. person

if the idea were the problem, all who follow would act accordingly (in this case, terroristic action)

if the person were the problem, you would see individual action... instead of whole action following an idea.
