So once again, the government sits on their asses until there is a serious crisis, then offers their "solution" in an environment of panic: more power, more money, and more control for the people that didn't do their jobs to begin with. They say, "Since we didn't enforce the laws, you (the US citizen) need to be tracked in a database and jump through hoops to get a job." E-verification (no doubt one step on the road toward implanted microchips) sounds like a reasonable answer to the problem, but it only appears so because they let it get to a state of emergency. Just like Katrina. Just like 9/11. The government capitalizes on crises created by their own inaction. And the "solution" is always the same.
