The only really new thing in the memos is the charge that Bush defied a direct order. That particular memo has been discredited in many ways.
If Kerry had any class, he would have commended Bush's service to the National Guard. His reluctance to do this makes him look petty and insults everyone who didn't go to Vietnam. His advisers must be incredibly frustrated. And now they are blaming the WH for the memos? Does Kerry believe that Mcauliffe can say anything he wants with no reflection on Kerry?
I think Kerry and his advisers are so full of hate themselves that it prevents them from clearly thinking.
Plus.....there's yet one more problem with this alleged "direct order" to take his physical. My husband, who was a pilot during that same time period said orders were not issued to take the flight physicals. They are required IF you want to fly. But there was no "order" given. IF you don't take them, then you get suspended from flight status. Also.....the flight physicals are given each year.....on the pilot's birthdate and anytime during the following 3 months. In Bush's case, he would have had 3 months after his July birthday. This memo was supposedly written by Killian in May.....which would have been 2 months before the 3-month starting period for the flight physical. Besides.....it's all a moot point anyway. Lt. Bush was voluntarily going off flight status. AND he had permission to go to Alabama. Just as he got permission to get out early to go to Harvard. And just like John Kerry got permission to get out of his reserves commitment early to run for Congress. This is simply Dems trying to make a mountain out of a molehill again. And Bush's polls numbers are killing Kerry...so there is a certain amount of desperation. There's no telling what the Dems will pull out of their you-know-what next.
