If you are talking about the core, the core did fall outside the building perimeter. If you are indeed talking about the foundation, the foundation was pretty much intact at the base. So much so that there were 14 survivors in the North tower who survived in a stairwell in the foundation between floors 1 and 6. Fortunately by the time the collapse was over, the 6th floor was almost at "ground level" from all the debris.

But why? If the market will support it, why not? People obviously want those products at are willing to pay at that price level. If they didn't, nobody would buy the shoes and Nike would have to either close their doors or lower their prices.

They haven't bought up the rest. Numerous brands of shoes are available for much more reasonable prices. There are already laws on the books that prevent companies from becoming monopolies or price fixing which is something you can only do with control of the market.

SDY's point is that if the prices are too high, people won't buy them and the prices will drop on their own. This is the law of supply and demand.

How did they steal the money? People willingly paid for the shoes and paid the price the shoe companies set. There are choices you can make. You can pay for the "prestige" of wearing the latest greatest styles from Nike or you can wear a no-name brand that doesn't carry the prestige.

I don't own any name brand shoes like Nike or Rebok or any of those, so I don't pay those ridiculous prices. I haven't paid more than $20 for a pair of shoes in many many years. Why? I don't need anyone admiring my shoes or thinking I'm a goof for spending 100+ for shoes just because of a label.
