That says it all.
Now someone on this thread is making a GREAT deal of noise about how the Left needs a super majority to get anything done; concluding from their insightful
newsflash that the GOP is acting to obstruct the grand Leftwing plan to finish off the US economy.
Mr. Bush came into office calling for the congress to develop an energy plan; a plan which provided for the building of Nuclear power plants, Coal-fire electrical generation plants and energy plants which burned natural gas; informing the US and the free world that if production of energy resources were not increased, that the world would suffer massive increases in the cost of energy as available spply dwindled; noting that while conservation and new forms of energy are a wonderful fantasy, that California had given the world a prime micro-example of what happens when a society shuts out energy production and pretends that it can windmill and solar panel itself into energy independence.
Now at THAT time, Mr. Bush had a Congress with a Republican majority; a majority who tried repeatedly to authorize exploration off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico along with ANWR and the shale deposits along the Rocky mountains. But there was a force which prevented the development of that energy plan; there was great weeping and gnashing of teeth with cries by this force to lock up the Chief and Vice Executive for having held meetings with energy concerns in their own attempt to determine the best path; this force was not the GOP, as they sent up bill after bill in attempts to drill off the coast and in the National Parks, (where the oil is), their constituent filed law suit after law suit to shut out more and more land and to make exploration of natural energy resources much more difficult to find and tap, once found.
Of course we know who that force was and it is the same force which, even as we speak continue to
fight against the exploration and recovery of natural energy resources, all the while spewing their chronic battle cry that "If we drilled today, it would take 10 years before we began to feel any effect." A cry which is not only erroneous, it is now more than 20 years old.
So the simple fact is that while the Socialists came to power on the promise to cut the cost of gas, demanding that Bush policy and the greed of energy companies were at fault, we have seen them sit on that majority while the price of fuel has more than doubled; and they're still stopping energy production, with powerful socialists in Congress now threatening to nationalize the entire oil industry; a plan which has a lot of potential; just no potential to do anything which will reduce the price of fuel or increase economic activity; activity which is critical to a growing economy, meaning the Socialist plan will reduce the size of the economy, despite whatever intentions they 'feel' they may have to the contrary.
Bottom line? There is nothing within the energy problems of the world that would not be solved by taken Socialism and the Advocates of Social Science out of the equation. Remove the socialists from power and you remove the impediments which are
driving the supply of available energy DOWN and as is always the case,
driving the cost of energy UP!
