I think reparations is a ridiculous concept. It's the stuff of fringe groups and young, reactive types.
I also think it is more often brought up as something to oppose than it is as a serious suggestion.

It's best if we get past this idea, which is way off, and focus on how to correct the inequities created in the past systematically by leveling the playing field.
Reparations does not level the playing field in any way. It is more of a symbolic and emotionally-charged idea... and would greatly damage race relations if it was made law.
