1. There are about twice as many self-identified "conservatives" than "liberals" in the US.
2. Only the far-left think regular media is conservative-biased. Regular liberals believe "liberal bias" is way overstated and acknowledge certain market-related biases, but do not see a need for liberal media. NPR is the closest thing to "liberal media" that liberals want.
3. Liberalism despises "common sense" and "conventional wisdom". Soundbites and opinionated blowhards annoy us. Most of us have a bizarre need to softly defend groups we can't stand when they are unfairly attacked. "Well, that's not quite fair..." and "Well, that's painting with a broad brush." We like long, wordy, explanative stuff better than entertaining stuff that reaffirms our preconceived notions. We're kind of snobby. I have no problem acknowledging that. Better to be a snobby elitist than a control-freak elitist.
4. Liberals want information to interpret according to their values, not constant babbling and regurgitation of what their values are.
5. The younger liberals who are more prone to like to hear a sounding board of similar-minded blowhards... don't listen to the radio!

I'd say when you combine all this, it's a no-brainer.
